Meet Rocket! Rocket is an 8-month-old Heeler (born February 1, 2025) with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s neutered, microchipped, and house-broken. Rocket knows how to use a doggy door and is kennel-trained—his kennel is his safe space where he eats, sleeps, and likes to retreat for a little downtime. This smart boy already knows how to sit and is working hard on “down” and “stay.” He’s very treat-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. Rocket is full of playful energy—he loves running around the yard, playing with his dog siblings (he can get a little rambunctious sometimes), and chewing on a good bone or antler. Despite his playful side, Rocket is also a total snuggle bug who adores his humans and loves cuddling up for some affection. He walks well on a leash but can get a little overwhelmed in busy places, so he prefers to stay close to his people until he feels comfortable. He’s working on building confidence in new environments and is already making great progress. Rocket does well with other dogs and kids. He hasn’t been around cats, so that’s still an unknown. He’s not a huge fan of getting into the car at first, but once he’s settled, he rides nicely. His very first ride with the rescue was a long one that upset his tummy, but since then, he’s become a seasoned traveler with no issues. Rocket was an owner surrender and doesn’t love sudden change, so he may need a few days to settle into a new routine. But once he does, he’s an affectionate, loyal companion who will bring endless joy to his forever family.
