Description
Yoda’s story is one of incredible resilience. Originally hailing from Ensenada, Mexico, this courageous 9-10 year old Australian Cattle Dog spent much of his early life living on a roof. After a tragic fall resulted in the loss of his sight, Yoda’s world changed forever but his spirit remained unbroken. Through a journey that took him across the border via Tijuana, Yoda proved that a lack of vision doesn’t mean a lack of heart. Despite his “wise old master” namesake and his senior status, Yoda is still young at heart. As he settles into his foster home, he is showing he is a master of adaptation. While he navigates the world in the dark, he does so with grace and confidence. Yoda gets along well with other dogs. He finds comfort in the presence of a pack mate. Yoda has spent most of his life outdoors and he is still most comfortable there. He possesses that classic “heeler” drive and will occasionally give chase to neighborhood cats or birds if the opportunity arises! He also loves playing with water and toys. Yoda will need some training to help him adjust completely to indoor life, but he loves being inside with the family. He does well in the crate where he sleeps every night. Yoda is a testament to the strength of rescue dogs. He doesn’t let his past or his blindness define him. Instead, he focuses on the path ahead, guided by his nose, his ears, and his unwavering loyalty to his family. Whether he’s lounging at home or navigating a new scent, Yoda brings a sense of calm and inspiration to everyone he meets.
